Etna Ski Touring – Ski on Europe’s highest Volcano

Minivan transfer from Nicolosi to the Rifugio Sapienza (1,900 meters), located on the southern slope of the volcano. From here, the cable car will ascend to an altitude of 2,500 meters, then continue with sealskins towards the summit craters of Etna (3,345 meters above sea level). Visit the summit craters (the visit is subject to volcano conditions) and descend along the north slope through Piano delle Concazze and various gullies to Monte Conca, the arrival point (1,800 meters). From Etna Nord, the return journey to Nicolosi in bed and breakfast will be included. Traditional dinner will be served. Overnight stay. Minivan transfer from Nicolosi to Piano Provenzana (1,900 meters), located on the volcano's north side. From here, the cable car ride will begin, reaching an altitude of almost 2,400 meters, before continuing, with sealskins, towards Pizzi Deneri (up to an altitude of almost 2,900 meters). From this altitude, the view is superb, encompassing both sea and mountains, and on clear days, even a splendid panorama of the Aeolian Islands. This is an ideal vantage point for the Valle del Leone and the summit craters, particularly the Northeast Crater. The descent will take place along the famous Quarantore gully to the starting point, Piano Provenzana. From Etna Nord, the return journey to Nicolosi will be in bed and breakfast. Minivan transfer from Nicolosi to the Rifugio Sapienza forecourt (1,900 meters), located on the southern slope of the volcano. From here, wearing sealskins, the route winds along the Schiena dell'Asino (Donkey's Back) to Montagnola (2,500 meters). The route skirts the Valle del Bove lookout point, allowing you to admire this vast and extensive depression, home to Etna's ancient eruptive zones. From here, too, the view is breathtaking: on one side, the sea and the entire Catania metropolitan area, and on the other, the summit craters. Return to the Rifugio Sapienza forecourt at 1,900 meters. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport. End of services.
