Selvaggio Blu sail and trekking it is the biggest adventure you can experience in the wild land of Sardinia.
The trekking of Selvaggio Blu is the most famous hike in Sardinia and one of the most popular in the world done near the sea.
The trek develops for a distance of about 50 km, covered in 5 days. Every day we will cross breathtaking landscapes suspended between the wild lands of the Sardinian hinterland and the wonderful cliffs overlooking the sea of the Gulf of Orosei, reaching wonderful beaches where there will be time to relax and swim in the most beautiful waters in Europe.
With our great team of IFMGA Mountain Guides and professional Skippers you will live your hiking week at 360°, exploring Sardinia coastline by trekking and sailing on a comfortable boat.
The hike links S. Maria Navarrese to Cala Sisine in the Orosei Gulf, through different and quite challenging paths in which the guiding of an expert is important to fully enjoy the experience.
The stages of the trek will be quite long, about 6-7 hours of walking each day. Some are more technical with exposed passages, small climbs up to grade III and rappelling.
All these situations will be handled safely by our Guides who will explain how to move from time to time.
Rope will be used in some more exposed parts, to belay and to descent cliffs. Usually you stop sleeping in farms along the way or you bivouac, but there’s also another experience waiting for you: cabins of our sailboat are ready to welcome you!
Using a rubber tender we will easy reach the beaches of the starting day trek. The tender everyday will wait us at the end of the daily trek and bring us back on the boat.
On the sailing boat we will get food, nice shower and enjoy relax moments. In case you will want to skip a daily trek part, you will be able to stay on the boat and just sail to the next bay, waiting for the group.
Equipment needed for the sailing and trekking days:
Climbing gear as harness, helmet, sling and a screwgate carabineer will be given by the organization.
We recommend that you are in good physical shape for this trip. We require that you are a good hiker, capable of walking 6-7 hours during the day and climbing up to 700-800 meters of elevation gain easily.
No previous experience in either sailing or climbing is required. The skipper and the mountain guide will teach you all you need to know to sail the boat and take your first steps during the trip.
The trekking has some exposed sections and little via ferrata.
The program can change at any time due to weather, sea and the group condition.
The price for the tour is € 1560. Maximum number of participants is 6.

Arrival day, meeting at the port of Marina di S. Maria Navarrese at 6:00 pm, where we will have a briefing to learn more about the stages of the trek, the maneuvers on the boat and to check the equipment. We will each settle into our own cabin that will host us for the entire tour.
On the morning of the first day, the boat will take us to the starting point of the trek at Pedralonga. Although we will already be in the heart of the Selvaggio Blu, it will be a day of warming up and discovering the Sardinian coast. After a climb, Punta Giradili, of about 700m and having reached a karst plateau with an expanse of rocks of furrowed fields, we will arrive, after about 4/5 hours at Monte Ginnirco, our destination of the first day from where we will return to the boat.
Once we have resumed our trek, with a high altitude route and with passages of some short cliffs overcome on sturdy juniper roots, we will head towards a particular rocky fjord, the Portu Pedrosu, from where we will embark on the tender to reach the sailing boat that will be waiting for us anchored and a refreshing shower on board.
The spectacular Cala Goloritzé will be the destination of the third day. Landed at Portu Cuao on sharp rocks, and resumed trekking, we will pass some classic sheepfolds with an uphill difference in altitude of about 600m, before reaching and descending to the bay, admiring up close the Aguglia di Goloritzé or Punta Carioli, one of the most famous Sardinian climbing points. The blue water will leave you speechless and thanks to the sailboat as a base camp, we could spend the night under the famous limestone obelisk.
Fantastic day of sailing to Cala Biriola, which will allow us to pass a long rocky bastion overlooking the sea. We will sleep in this breathtaking bay nestled in the vertical walls of the cliff.
We climbed the ridge for about 300m, along various rocky crags, with equipped climbing sections (grade 3c) on a system of ledges and rope descents, to finally arrive at the wonderful Cala Sisine, where we will share the conclusion of the Selvaggio Blu. We will get back on the boat and head, perhaps pushed by the wind with a nice sail, to the Marina di Santa Maria Navarrese.
After the last night on the boat, we will organize to disembark at 10:00, reach the airport and fly home.
Equipment needed for the sailing and trekking days: trekking boots, sunglasses, 20-30 liter backpack, hat, sunscreen, water bottle, wind jacket, down jacket or similar, headlamp. Climbing gear as harness, helmet, sling and a screwgate carabineer will be given by the organization.
